Have you heard the news?

We are truly honored to have recently received the Business Resilience Award from the Biddeford & Saco Chamber of Commerce and Industry!

This award recognizes businesses and organizations that displayed strength and resilience during the past year when facing challenges due to COVID-19. Check out what the local news is saying about the awards and their recipients.

Traditionally, Oceanwood runs year-round programs ranging from environmental education to summer camps and retreats. However, the events of COVID-19 prevented us from being able to run our standard programs.  It was a challenging but very necessary decision. As always, our main priority is to keep the Oceanwood community safe. With creative thought and extensive planning, we were able to launch our Camp Classroom initiative, which provided a safe space for a small number of students to experience remote learning in a social setting, and to compliment their academic curriculum with camp fun!

It was vital to continue to offer our students a place where they could not only get an excellent education but, learn life skills, connect with nature, move their bodies, and challenge their minds.

Serving our community has always been extremely important to us. We are so grateful to be a part of a community that gives back to small businesses and non-profits like ours.

Of course, we want to express a special thanks to our staff, donors, campers, students, and their families for their support over the past year. We are so lucky to have such a great support system!

We are so grateful to be recognized for this award and to be named among other dedicated businesses and organizations! We will continue to strive to meet the moment and rise to the challenge.
